I was able to contact a couple of Mark Pierce’s former teammates at Arkansas a little while ago.
Needless to say, they were surprised to hear the news.

Parrish was in town last night for the Oklahoma-Arkansas game. Chances are, he was probably going to pen a piece on Oklahoma, Blake Griffin, or something of the like. But the Razorbacks’ performance might’ve changed his plans.

Hey, remember what it was like when Arkansas welcomed Gus Malzahn home for the Tulsa game this year?
Well, the Razorbacks will get to do it again next fall.
Malzahn, the former Springdale High coach, Arkansas offensive coordinator and Tulsa co-offensive coordinator has accepted a position on Auburn coach Gene Chizik’s staff. It means the Tigers will [...]

Here’s something interested I found while taking a break from work.
ESPN.com’s Chris Low on Tuesday named Arkansas defensive tackle Malcolm Sheppard as the SEC’s most underrated player.
It’s easy to make the case that Sheppard gets overlooked considering he was named to the SEC’s second team despite finishing second in the league with 16 tackles for loss [...]

No official champion will be recognized for the Jim Thorpe Classic. But tonight will serve as the de-facto title contest when Arkansas meets Stephen F. Austin in Bud Walton Arena. The Razorbacks defeated Austin Peay 89-80 on Wednesday night, and the Lumberjacks took care of the Governors 93-54 on Friday night, setting up what should be a competitive tilt tonight.
