LSU Game Blog

There's about 10 minutes until tip-off here at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, La. And, this is rare for this arena, the place is nearly full already. It's a sellout here, as LSU formally celebrates its 100th year of basketball.

It’s Gameday: LSU

Arkansas won its first Southeastern Conference game 36 hours ago, but the Razorbacks’ victory over Alabama better be long gone from their minds. Such is life in the SEC, as the Hogs are in Baton Rouge, La., today, facing their toughest test of league play against the Western Division-leading Tigers.

Moore Available, Monk Not

John Pelphrey just met with us media types to preview the LSU game. Gotta hurry and write a story because of our tight deadlines, but want to give you a few nuggets of information. • Pelphrey said Brandon Moore will be available after serving a two-game suspension. Pelphrey said Moore has learned a life lesson from [...]

No Newspaper, No Problem

Hopefully, everyone either has electricity or is in the process of getting it restored after several days without it. (I was ecstatic to pull into my neighborhood after covering Arkansas’ win over Alabama last night to see that the other houses had their lights on again.)   For those lucky enough to have electricity, check out the [...]

Arkansas is 6:45 away from its first SEC win. The Razorbacks hold a 62-50 lead late in the second half and appear to be in control of this game. Although, things can change quickly. As Signing Day Nears

Arkansas’ basketball program may be struggling, but the football team looks like it’s gotten pretty good at convincing high school prospects to come to Fayetteville. Or at least orally commit to the Razorbacks. Bobby Petrino and his staff picked up four more commitments — all on the defensive side of the ball — last week to [...]

Auburn Game Blog

We’ve hit the 11:58 mark here in the second half and the Razorbacks still trail 52-44. There have been a few signs of life from the Hogs. But Auburn seems to have an answer on the other end. As I wrote that, Stefan Welsh just knocked down a 3-pointer to help the Hogs close to five. Welsh [...]

Marcus Monk Out

We’ve got some big news before tip-off. And it’s not good news for the Razorbacks. Forward Marcus Monk is being held out of today’s game because of eligibility issues. The school released a statement that says Monk is out “pending a review of an issue that could affect his eligibility.” He is in street clothes and [...]

It’s Gameday: Auburn

Remember when John Pelphrey’s young Razorbacks were considered one of the hottest teams in college basketball? Recall when every NCAA “mock bracket” had the the Hogs in the tourney field? Kind of hard, isn’t it?
