Is there any doubt football is king in the Southeastern Conference?

If you weren’t sure, the past couple minutes here in Bud Walton Arena would’ve proven it.

Arkansas football players and coaches just walked through the tunnel at the arena on the way to their seats with the prospects taking official visits to campus this weekend. The ovation was very loud. Not only that, the student section is filled with signs — I’m assuming they were homemade — with the names of the prospects on campus. Signs like, ‘We want Wingo,’ in reference to high profile running back Ronnie Wingo.

Yes, basketball is important at Arkansas. But football is king.

Oh, and FYI: Secondary coach Lorenzo Ward is with them for what it’s worth. No new word today on the South Carolina situation.
