In case anyone was wondering what Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett did to get arrested, here is a copy of the Fayetteville police report describing the events that led to his arrest:

  ”On 3-1-09 I Officer Shepard was on routine foot patrol conducting a business check at the Dickson Street Theatre. I was approached by security in reference to a white male that was under twenty-one years of age. The security guard stated that he was concerned due to the fact the male was under age and appeared to be already intoxicated.

  I approached the white male, later identified as Ryan Mallett. I asked Mallett to step outside with me and he complied. I noticed that Mallett was visibly swaying as he walked out of the business. Mallett stated he wanted to get into the club to see his friends. I could smell a heavy odor of intoxicants coming from Mallett’s breath as he spoke. I observed that his eyes were watery and bloodshot. I could also smell a faint odor of burnt marijuana coming from Mallett. I asked him if he had been smoking marijuana. He stated that he had not. I asked him if he had been around someone who was smoking marijuana. He stated he had been around people smoking marijuana but had not been doing it himself. As I was speaking with Mallett he lost balance on several occasions stepping backwards. 

  Officer Edwards performed HGN on Mallett. During the test Mallett lost balance and nearly fell backwards. Mallett’s voice was extremely slurred and at times incoherent. I told Mallett he needed to call for a ride home. Mallett made several phone calls but was unable to make contact with anyone. Mallett appeared to lose focus on making phone calls to get a ride and would begin staring off into the distance. I placed Mallett under arrest for Public Intoxication. Officer Odell transported Mallett to the WCDC.”
