Casey Dick in Dallas (on Monday)

I’m not doing a very job with these Google alerts. My e-mail is loaded with ones I hadn’t checked for quite some time. But I finally starting looking at them today and did run across something fairly new.

While Ryan Mallett and Tyler Wilson fight for the starting job at Arkansas, their predecessor, Casey Dick, is trying to find a job in the NFL.

The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram reported today that Dick was one of four quarterbacks working out for the Dallas Cowboys on Monday. He was there with Missouri’s Chase Daniel, Sam Houston State’s Rhett Bomar and New Mexico State’s Chase Holbrook.

Interestingly, all four played high school ball in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

The workout was described as a “quick” one. It seems there was more attention on Daniel and Bomar. The story said both quarterbacks were asked to draw up plays for offensive coordinator Jason Garrett and quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson.

The NFL Draft is next Saturday and Sunday. Dick isn’t expected to be drafted, but will be hoping to be invited to camp somewhere.
