Dick Gets Tryout With Jets, Mortensen Signs

Hey, just thought people would want to know.

Former Arkansas quarterback Alex Mortensen has agreed to a two-year deal with the Tennessee Titans, and four-year starter Casey Dick has been invited to a tryout with the New York Jets.

Adelqui Boué, Dick’s agent, said Sunday that Dick will participate in the Jets’ rookie minicamp this week alongside former USC quarterback Mark Sanchez, the fifth pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

Dick will compete to earn a spot with the Jets, who also signed former Arkansas tight end Andrew Davie as an undrafted free agent.

Dick ended his collegiate career ranked third in Arkansas history in pass completions (473), attempts (850) yards (5,856) and touchdowns (47).

Mortensen joins the Titans as an undrafted free agent. He spent 2005 as a backup to Dick before transferring to Samford. He returned to the Razorbacks, spent 2007 on the practice squad and was a backup as a senior last season.
