Khiry Battle Arrested … Again

Arkansas linebacker Khiry Battle has gotten arrested for the second time in seven weeks.

The sophomore was arrested Saturday on charges of driving under the influence and noise ordinance. He was booked into the Washington County Jail early Sunday morning and released at 5:07 a.m. after posting an $830 bond.

It will be interesting to see if Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino suspends or kicks Battles off the team following his latest run-in with police.

Battle was arrested May 7 for failure to appear after a university police officer responded to an argument involving the sophomore.

A university officer responded to a parking lot on West Maple Street and Garland Avenue after Battle and another student got into an argument, according to Gary Crain, public information officer for the University of Arkansas Police Department.

Crain said the officer ran a check on Battle and the other student, and it came back that a warrant had been issued for the linebacker’s arrest.

According to Crain, Battle had a careless driving ticket that he had not resolved. He was arrested at 10:06 p.m. Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in Fayetteville District Court on June 15.

We will have more on Battle’s situation later on, so check back with us.
