Turns out, Arkansas running back Broderick Green has not heard that he’ll be cleared to play next season by the NCAA, as FOX16 in Little Rock is reporting.
Green spoke with Dudley Dawson of Hawgs Illustrated a few minutes ago, and the tailback shot down the TV report that he has already received word that he’ll be eligible to play in the fall.
”I have all these people calling me and telling me I have gotten cleared and that’s just not true,” Green told Hawgs Illustrated. “In fact, I am afraid that if the NCAA hears all this, they might not let me play. Let people know that I have not heard anything.”
Meanwhile, Arkansas officials sent out a statement a few minutes ago that also disputes the report.
”The University of Arkansas has received no official or unofficial news on the status of the eligibility waiver filed on behalf of football student-athlete Broderick Green. The University of Arkansas has also not been given a timeline for such a decision.”
My theory when it comes to eligibility issues, especially those involving the NCAA, it’s best to wait for official word either from the school or the NCAA because they seem to be the only ones that know what’s going on.
