Texas A&M
Record: 3-0 (0-0 in Big 12)
Last Game: The Aggies had no trouble against a non-conference opponent once again, rolling to a 56-19 win against Alabama-Birmingham in College Station, Texas. Junior QB Jerrod Johnson led Texas A&M to 544 yards of offense and became the first player in school history to run for three touchdowns and throw for three more in a game.
Head Coach: Mike Sherman (Second season, 7-8 at Texas A&M)
Key Offensive Player: QB Jerrod Johnson (as mentioned above). The dual-threat quarterback has been the key behind an Aggies offense that leads the nation in yards a game (574.3). Johnson has throw for 961 yards and 9 touchdowns without an interception in three games. He also is the team’s second-leading rusher (196 yards) and has scored four times on the ground. His contributions last week were vital, considering the Aggies were playing without top receiver Jeff Fuller and running back
Key Defensive Player: LB Von Miller. Texas A&M’s defensive end/linebacker hybrid is off to an incredible start. Miller has notched eight sacks in three games, leading the nation in that category. He’s part of an attacking defense that has 14 sacks in three games. Arkansas’ offensive line will have to be well aware of Miller, whose start has been so good he was added to the Hendricks Watch List last week.
