Reprimands have been a topic of discussion on the SEC teleconference today.
In the past week, three SEC coaches — Bobby Petrino, Tennessee’s Lane Kiffin and Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen — were all reprimanded for comments made about officiating. Petrino was asked about his comments, which were made on his weekly TV show after the Florida loss, and whether he knew he would get in trouble.
“I didn’t really, I guess, know (the TV show) was part of it,” Petrino said. “I tried to do as good as I could with my press conferences.”
“Obviously, I made a mistake and something I’m not very proud of. That’s something I take very serious. I think it is a big part of your responsibility of being a coach. I will make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
