Former Arkansas quarterback Matt Jones will avoid facing trial on Friday for felony possession of cocaine by agreeing to enter Washington County Drug Court.
As part of the agreement, Jones — who nows plays wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars — must comply with the orders of Washington County Circuit Judge Mary Ann Gunn.
Jones, who’s free on a $2,500 bond, pleaded not guilty to one felony count of possession of a controlled substance during his Aug. 11 arraignment in Washington County Circuit Court.
I will have more on this story in Wednesday’s edition of The Morning News.
